Buy Art to Support our Campaign

International artist Tony Foster has produced a limited edition print, Dive 106 Vilamendhoo, signed and numbered 1-100 in support of our campaign against South West Water’s desalination proposals at Par.

This beautiful print was originally created underwater in response to Sir David Attenborough’s contribution to Tony’s ‘Exploring Beauty’ exhibition in 2016. An experienced diver, Tony made the drawing at a depth on 18m, using architects drawing film and Caran d’Ache crayons, developing the final water colour painting back in his studio.

The fine art print now available for sale shows both the original drawing and the finished painting and is available to support our cause for a minimum donation of £100.  If you would like your print safely packed up in a tube there is an additional cost of £5.  If you would like us to post your print to you the additional cost is £14.99 to include the tube and Special Delivery (tracked and signed for). Overseas postage on application.

Please either transfer the money direct to the account details above, adding your name and ‘Tony Foster Print’ as a reference or click the PayPal button. Then please email pardesal23@gmail.com with your name/address & phone no, confirming the amount you have paid, your reference and date of payment.  Apologies that this is a bit cumbersome but we are still developing our website!

Hurry – we have just 50 prints available and they are already selling fast!

How do we spend our precious funds?

We keep expenditure as tight as possible – but using every method we can to prevent South West Water from imposing a desalination plant on us all DOES cost money!
DIG has been extremely fortunate to have benefitted from support from the Environmental Law Foundation which has kept our legal fees so far to a minimum – but we need significant funds to pay for ongoing legal support to fight this cause.
And it’s vital we continue to inform and raise awareness amongst as many people as possible – but there’s a cost to produce leaflets, posters, banners and this website.

Here’s an overview or what we’ve spent to date:

August 2024

Venue Hire for 3 events £120
Printing including leaflets, posters & exhibition displays £265
Placards & banners £170
Legal fees £900
Insurance £100
Website development & hosting £150
Sundry expenses to support events £43
Seahorse art print costs £82
TOTAL £1845

Many of these costs generate additional income – every purchase you make at our events benefits this campaign.

We also benefit from core members who give their time and individual skills freely and our fantastic network of volunteers who provide help and support when they can.

If you have skills, time or expertise and can help us in any way to prevent the desalination plant from going ahead we’d love to hear from you!
