Say No to Desalination

South West Water (SWW) plan to build a desalination plant in Par with two massive pipelines out into St Austell Bay and another 13km pipeline from Par to Restormel Treatment Works at Lostwithiel.

There are so many reasons why this plan is a dreadful idea. Whether it’s the environmental impact, the ecological damage, the cost, or the lack of trust in SWW.

About Us

The Desalination Information Group is a small group of concerned individuals who came together in September 2023 after South West Water’s bizarre proposal to build a desalination plant in Cornwall came to light.

We made it our mission to investigate and challenge South West Water’s proposals, explore all the implications and explore alternative solutions.

We have held public information meetings, sharing our research and information far and wide to raise awareness.

We are all volunteers and rely on fund-raising to cover campaign costs such as printing, venue hire and legal costs.

Thank you for your support!
